My Project 365 has been started

Ho deciso anche io do aderire al progetto 365. Che cos'è il Project 365? Postare una foto ogni giorno per un anno (365 giorni). La foto ovviamente postata deve riferirsi al giorno in cui è stata scattata.
Perchè tutto cio?
Scattare una foto al giorno è una grande impresa che alla fine ripagerà...fra 365 giorni potrai guardare indietro e rivivere ogni singolo giorno, bello o brutto che sia (d'altronde è la vita!!) rappresentato da una foto...beh fico no?

Photoshow è la manifestazione di riferimento in Italia dedicata all'Imaging.
Una manifestazione che presenta in un unico contesto aree dedicate al trade, agli operatori del settore e al pubblico più in generale.

Forte di circa 300 espositori con tutte le aziende più importanti a presentare prodotti servizi e novità nel campo della fotografia digitale e tradizionale, attrezzature e materiali video, fotolaboratori, minilab, album, cornici, attrezzature per fotografia professionale.

Photoshow ogni anno (negli anni dispari si svolge a Milano negli anni pari a Roma) conta più di 50.000 visitatori.
All'interno dell'area espositiva una parte viene dedicata al Professional Imaging dove sono raggruppate tutte le aziende che propongono attrezzature e materiali per fotografi e operatori professionali.

Like every year, the company whose I work, Avanade Italy, has organized the "Company Meeting", an opportunity for all the Italians employees to meet.

This year we went to Greece in an 5* Hotel: Olympian Hotel, located near the city of Olympia.

Equipment:
- 5D still camera (it captured 2263 images over 5 hours)
- Images remotely captured with "Remote DSLR Pro" on a WinXP machine
- Cropped, batch adjusted, and batch exported in Aperture
- Combined images with QuickTime PRO
- All post work done in FinalCut Pro 5

If you want to have some fun, "scrub" the video forward and backward (using the timeline), and watch the water level change (and the entire dock move!). Pretty entertaining :)

The technical challenge here is to expose each frame properly, without getting horrible flicker. The daytime shots were shuttered arround 1/250th, while the night shots were often 7 second exposures (or more). This variable exposure is difficult, because any SLIGHT difference between any 2 frames will cause a flicker (and the human brain is very sensitive to flicker). So, the magic trick is to go from 1/250th to 7 second exposures smoothly. If you've done time-lapse over varying illumination conditions, you know what I'm talking about. it isn't an easy problem.

Today, just accessed on Flickr, the first image that I saw was:



Flickr users are not waiting ... was born groups against videos on flickr.
Protests are numerous ... and these groups already counting thousands of subscribers.

We Say NO to Videos on Flickr


NO VIDEO ON FLICKR!!!


On the contrary are emerging groups favourable to video on flickr ... but users for now are very poor!
